The spinning fibres are teased out and layered, then placed under the needles and felted. The yarn is a soft twist single so it was untwisted and the colours separated and teased out. The next step is a sort of magic as the machine felts all the fibres together. Note the guard round the needles that stops you becoming part of the art :-) Next add a few stitches and I think this may be the cover to a new needle case for my embroidery needles.
